Why CycleCNC

Five reasons aerospace primes, R&D labs and universities pick CycleCNC.

Why buy a Pocket NC through CycleCNC instead of importing one yourself? Here's the honest answer.

The short version

You can absolutely import a Pocket NC from the US yourself. People do. But you'll spend 3–4 weeks dealing with: a 110 V machine that needs a transformer, US customs paperwork, dock-to-door freight in two packages, German VAT reclamation, and a manufacturer support line that's open 4pm–midnight your time.

Or you can buy the same machine through CycleCNC and skip every one of those problems. Same hardware. Same firmware. Same factory warranty. Same Penta Machine engineers behind it. We just handle the EU side.

1. Real 5-axis kinematics, not 3+2 indexing

The Pocket NC V2-10 and V2-50 are true simultaneous 5-axis machines — A and B trunnion axes interpolate at the same time as X/Y/Z. You can run impeller blades, satellite brackets and orthopaedic implants on a bench. Most desktop CNC machines on the EU market are 3-axis with a manual tilt-rotary; that won't cut complex geometry.

2. Aerospace-grade spindle on a desktop

Every V2-50 ships with a Mafell 50,000 RPM brushless spindle — the same Mafell head trusted in industrial routers for aluminium, brass and aerospace plastics. With ER11 collets you get repeatable ±0.0005 in (12 µm) on real part geometry, not just the spec sheet.

3. EU-ready out of the box

Every CycleCNC machine ships at 230 V single-phase from the factory. We handle EU customs clearance ourselves. German-VAT invoices are issued the day your order is paid. Goods arrive at your dock in 2 packages, both pre-cleared, no broker handoff needed.

4. Local support in your timezone, in your language

Our application engineers are in Cologne. We've run the V2-10 and V2-50 in the same use cases you're about to: first-article prototyping, CAM-engineer training, university machining labs, short-batch aerospace fixtures. We pick up the phone in German, English or French.

5. Predictable lifecycle, not import-roulette

6-month CycleCNC warranty + the full Penta Machine factory warranty. Spare parts stocked in Cologne (Mafell spindles, ER11 nuts, control boards, Y-axis ways). Extended-warranty options for fleets of 3+ machines. Annual on-site service for DACH and BeNeLux customers.

Side-by-side: import yourself vs buy from CycleCNC

What changes when you order from us instead of the US Penta Machine site direct:

  • Price: we publish EU prices in EUR, including our distribution markup but excluding VAT. No FX surprises on your card statement.
  • Shipping: 2 EU-bound packages, total transit ≈ 10–15 working days from order to dock. DDP terms — no customs fees on arrival.
  • Voltage: 230 V from the factory. No transformer required.
  • Documentation: CE conformity, German operator manual, German invoice, USt-IdNr. on the paperwork.
  • Warranty: 6 months CycleCNC + the standard Penta factory warranty. We do the warranty handling locally, you don't ship a machine back to Montana.
  • Training: a 2-hour onboarding call in your language at no charge after delivery.
  • Spares: in stock in Cologne, next-day shipping for most parts.

Who we work with

We ship to customers in Germany — and case-by-case across the EU — including:

  • Aerospace and defense primes running first-article prototypes alongside a big-iron production line
  • Medical-device R&D teams on instrument grips, surgical jig prototypes, watch-grade tolerance work
  • Universities and Fachhochschulen teaching CAM and 5-axis programming on real industrial kinematics
  • Job shops validating new fixtures and CAM postprocessors before committing main-spindle hours
  • Independent watchmakers and instrument builders on small-batch case and bezel work
