Mist coolant on the V2-10 — which fluid for aluminium?
Looking for an EU-sourced mist coolant that plays nice with both 6061 and 7075. What works in your shop?
Just commissioning a V2-10 in Köln. The mist setup is plumbed and air pressure is dialed in, but I'm hunting for a coolant fluid that:
- Ships in 5 L containers (EU-stocked, ideally Germany or NL)
- Doesn't gum the spindle bearings on long runs
- Behaves well on both 6061 and 7075 — switching mid-day is annoying
Anyone running Castrol Hysol XBB or similar? Or has someone landed on a specific Datron coolant that works? Comparing notes before I commit to a 25 L drum.
